Rain and possibly a few severe storms Saturday night into Sunday
Saturday was warm, dry, and breezy with sunshine, but rain returns late Saturday night with some storms. A few storms may become severe, especially west of I-65, capable of mainly damaging straight-line winds. However, a brief tornado or two appear possible too. Have a way to receive weather watches and warning for your location overnight. Our free “WAKA Weather” app, available on the Google play and Apple app store is one way to do that.
Storms may not arrive in the western part of our viewing area until after 2 or even 3AM. However, storms race east, exiting the eastern part of our area within 6 hours. By early Sunday afternoon, sunshine returns for us all. A cold front sweeps through our area Sunday, but Sunday afternoon still looks warm, with highs in the upper 70s to low and even mid 80s. However, Sunday night looks much cooler, with lows in the 40s.
Next week looks mainly dry, with plenty of sunshine, especially through Wednesday. High temperatures range from the upper 70s to low 80s, with lows in the 40s to low 50s each night. Another cold front sweeps through our area late Tuesday, but looks unlikely to produce any rain. Clouds may increase a bit Thursday and Friday. Models now hint at the potential for at least some rain next weekend, but details on coverage and amounts are murky at this time.
