Way-below-freezing Sunday, Monday night; Warming up this week

After a fairly warm start to our weekend, Sunday was drastically colder than Saturday. Temperatures were only in the 40s despite sunshine during the afternoon. Brisk north winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 25+ resulted in wind chills in the 30s throughout the day. Temperatures were already near or below freezing by 8PM Sunday evening, and fall way below freezing through early Monday morning, with lows near 20°, and wind chills in the 10s.

Monday remains cold despite sunshine, with highs near 50°. Monday night looks very cold again, with lows in the low to mid 20s. Temperatures start trending warmer Tuesday, with highs in the upper 50s and a mostly sunny sky. Tuesday night lows fall into the 30s. Wednesday looks partly cloudy and warmer with highs in the mid 60s. Temperatures approach 70° Thursday before another cold front brings rain to Alabama late Thursday.

Friday looks mostly sunny and dry with highs in the 60s. Next weekend may begin dry with a mix of sun and clouds Saturday and highs in the mid to upper 60s. Rain appears possible Sunday as another front approaches from the north. The week of Christmas may begin fairly mild with highs in the mid to upper 60s, lingering cloudiness, and perhaps a few showers through Wednesday.
