Cloudier, cooler Thursday; Sunnier, still cooler through the weekend
After a mainly sunny Monday through Wednesday morning, Thursday morning was much more cloudy across central and south Alabama. At midday, the clouds were eroding across west Alabama. However, the sky remained mostly cloudy to overcast across east Alabama. High temperatures were in the low to mid 80s west, but only in the 70s east.
Despite more cloudiness, Thursday was mainly dry. Thursday night looks partly cloudy and cooler, with lows in the low 60s. Friday looks partly to mostly sunny and seasonable, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Friday night lows fall into the low 60s again. Mainly dry and seasonable weather with sunshine continues this weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the 60s Saturday and Sunday.
Next week begins mainly dry, with just stray afternoon showers or storms Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures trend hotter again next week, with highs in the upper 80s to 90° Monday through Thursday. At one point, models suggested a cold front brings rain/storms across the lower Mississippi River Valley Wednesday, but Thursday 9/24 model runs suggest that weather system and associated rain may not arrive until the end of next week or next weekend.
