FOR TONIGHT: It will be a dry night, and we should see a partly cloudy sky across South-Central Alabama, but clouds should once again increase after midnight. Not a bad night as temperatures will be in the lower to mid 50s by tomorrow morning.

RAIN RETURNS: Along the stalled front over South Alabama, an area of low pressure will develop and begin to lift the front northward as a warm front. Rain will begin to overspread the state from the southwest, and it should arrive in the River Region by tomorrow afternoon. It will continue tomorrow night, and into at least part of the day Thursday. No severe weather issues, but expect another soaking rain as totals will be between 1-2 and inches likely, with some heavier amounts in some spots. Forecast model output below shows this as well. You will definitely have the rain gear close both Wednesday and Thursday.

FRIDAY: There could be a few lingering showers to start the day, but we are going to see an area of high pressure build in from the west and this will finally push the low pressure and frontal boundary out of the state. This high pressure will settle in making for a fine Friday and another great weekend of weather. Afternoon highs on Friday will be in the lower 70s.

WONDERFUL WEEKEND WEATHER: With high pressure firmly in control of our weather, terrific weather is head this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday, expect mainly sunny days and clear, cool nights. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s both days and overnights temperatures will be in the lower 50s. The high pressure will remain in control rolling into the next week as dry weather continues Monday through Wednesday. Our next chance of rain looks to arrive Thursday when we may have to deal with some thunderstorms with an approaching upper trough. Temperatures still look to approach the low 80s early next week and the overall temperature trend stay warm.
