It was a p13310323_10153375010861157_1126702297772812165_nicture perfect evening as a crowd packed the Capitol lawn to take in a free concert for all ages.

“‘Showboat’ for the train shed down by the river.. We’ll do ‘Hey Good Lookin” for the Oakwood Cemetery and Hank Williams.” said Conductor Thomas Hinds.

The music lead the audience on a journey by giving tribute to Maxwell Air Force Base with the Air Force song. Also, a  tribute to the Montgomery Zoo with
“Jurassic Park.”

The Jubilee pops concert is a tradition that many people say they look forward to each year.

“Well, this is a wonderful concert by the Montgomery Symphony and, as you can see, it gets bigger and bigger every year,” said Joe Scanlan.

“It’s just amazing and I am thrilled,” said Maurite Scanlan.

The Montgomery Symphony Orchestra is made up of community members just like you and me… And actually our own Alabama News network Weekend Anchor and Reporter Josh Ninke is a part of it as well.
He plays the cello.

“I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Started in middle school and it’s something that I wanted to keep following. Minored in it in college, and when I came here, I was lucky enough to find the symphony and keep playing here,” said Ninke.

And the community is lucky enough to hear
them play.

The concert was free and open to the public.
