Drier Air is On The Way
It was another hot day across the river region with temperatures topping out in the low to mid 90s. A few storms popped up in the afternoon heat, and they will linger through the early evening. Showers will generally diminish after sunset, and we will be left with clearing skies overnight. Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 70s, and it will be somewhat humid tonight. Tomorrow, temperatures will again rise into the lower to mid 90s, with isolated storms possible, especially over our western counties.
A change to the pattern comes on Tuesday, as the southeastern ridge once again strengthens over the area. This will result in drier air being brought into the river region. Temperatures will remain hot through the week, pretty much reaching the mid 90s each day. Rain chances will be very low, and basically 0 on Tuesday. With the drier air in place however, overnight lows will be able to cool into the lower 70s, perhaps even the upper 60s some nights. A cold front will approach the area next weekend, though at this time it looks like it will stall out north of the area. The proximity of the front could trigger isolated to scattered storms on Saturday and Sunday.
