Montgomery Church Dedicates Black Lives Matter Banner
In response to the political changes across the country, one Montgomery church dedicated a Black Lives Manner banner.
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Montgomery put the banner up on November 10th and officially dedicated it Saturday.
The banner was originally set to be put up Saturday, but after seeing the reactions to the presidential election results the church decided to put it up a little early.
The church feels its necessary to show that people of color have an equal value.
“We as a people of faith are committed to the inherent worth and dignity of of all people and we’re living right now in a time of heighten racial and ethnic tension and we’re seeing more and more acts of outright hostility. It’s deeply disturbing,” said Minister Lynn Hopkins.
