Even though the start of the season has not started the way they wanted, the team has not wavered in their work ethic and preparation each week.
“We have the same mentality (in practice) as always,” Head Coach Brian Jenkins said. “We are getting after it, grinding, practicing with energy and trying to find a way to get things all together where we can play a complete ball game.”
“Our guys are very aware of the stage we are in and we’re disappointed, but we’re not discouraged. There’s still a lot of football left and we plan on playing football the best that we can play it to come out with the best we can come out with.”
Like last weekend, the Hornets are facing a team in the same boat as they are, looking for their first win of the season. With that in mind both teams will going into the game thinking this is the game they pick up that all-important win.
“There’s a lot of hunger there, there’s famine there, it’s more than hunger,” Jenkins said. “I definitely think it’s building towards a good contest.”
“They’re a good football team. They are a couple of plays away here or there from having their record completely different. We know they are going to be hungry and they still have not played a complete ball game from what we’ve seen on film and we haven’t either. That’s just going to add to the excitement of which team is going to come out on top.”
The Hornets and Delta Devils can be heard live on the ASU Hornets Sports Network with Duane Lewis and former Hornet standout Chris Terry providing the play-by-play action. The pregame show will begin at 5:30 p.m. For more information check with Game Day Central on bamastatesports.com.
