The remnants of Helene bring significant rain to parts of the mid-Atlantic states, Ohio and mid-Mississippi river valleys Friday. However, the weather in central and south Alabama looks quiet with some sunshine.
Rain and increasing wind speeds affect mainly eastern Alabama Thursday night. Storm total rain of 4″+ east of I-65 may cause flash flooding. Wind gusts may increase to 40 mph+ near the Georgia state line.
Numerous to widespread showers and storms continue Wednesday afternoon. A few storms may become strong to severe, capable of damaging wind gusts or perhaps a brief tornado.
