Troy University program makes course materials more affordable

Carrington Cole is a Reporter/MMJ for WAKA Action 8 News. She also works in the Creative Services Department editing station promotion and commercials.
Carrington was born and raised in Montgomery and has always dreamed of working in the media industry. She is a 2019 Auburn University graduate with a degree in Visual Media and a minor in Theatre.
Carrington interned with WSFA in Montgomery and War Eagle Productions while finishing her bachelor’s degree. She moved to Atlanta after graduating college where she worked in a production company before moving back to Alabama in 2020.
She has been working with WAKA since May 2021 and has been excited to learn more about the media industry.
When she’s not working, Carrington loves shopping for clothes and getting new books to read. At home, she’s usually curled up with her cat while watching a horror movie.

This was the 50th anniversary for Alabama History Day with this year's theme being 'Turning Points in History.'
The agency awarded a total of 202 grants statewide to a range of prevention efforts including: parent education, home visiting, and community awareness programs.
The contestants get to share the experience of being away from their friends and family as they get ready for the upcoming finals and only have each other and their host families to lean on for support.
This week the contestants are preparing themselves for the preliminaries and finals that will be taking place this weekend.
The Pike Road Schools app is now available to download for iOS and Android devices.
They need the public's help in getting back on their own feet.
"I think once I kind of got over the fact that anybody would care about my story it kind of became a little more interesting as we went along through the process."
The first Capital City Singing started in 1986, with today being the first time it has been held again since 2019.
The Board of Education began their search after the former Superintendent, Tim Tidmore, announced his retirement in March.
