It’s called the Get there safe program. The local Prattville All State representatives gave students at Prattville High School the opportunity to sign the get there safe flag. In doing so students pledge to be smart when it comes to driving safely. The flag was raised by the Prattville High Junior ROTC. The issue hits close to home for students in Prattville, because they lost fellow student, Christy Christian, in a crash last year.
The State house is also looking into reducing the amount of teen car crashes. Drafting house bill 556 that will bring stiffer penalties for teens who drive past midnight, and also have more than one passenger in the vehicle that’s not a parent or a family member.
