AUBURN AND ALLSTATE SURPRISE JONATHAN WALLACE WITH AWARD
Auburn, AL –   It was recently announced that Auburn University wide receiver JonathanWallace was named to the 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® for his dedication and commitment to serving the community. To recognize Wallace, members of the Auburn University athletics department and Cary Woods Elementary School planned a surprise for him in celebration of the most esteemed off-the-field honor in college football.
Wallace thought it was just a regular day of student teaching and volunteering with the Cary Woods afterschool program; however, he was honored for making a positive impact on others and their communities. Wallace’s family, representatives and athletes from Auburn’s athletic department as well as students and staff from Cary Woods Elementary School are joining Allstate representative Dee Madison to recognize Wallace for his selection to the 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® and surprise him with his trophy.
Originally from Phenix City, AL, Wallace is involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and its campus ministries. He has served as a volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club and as a youth mentor with Youth for Christ. He is a regular speaker at events including Stand Out, Ignite Auburn, Unity Night and during local churches’ worship services or youth meetings.Â

A three-year letterman, Wallace started as a quarterback his freshman season before moving to wide receiver. Additional achievements include SEC Academic Honor Roll, Auburn Academic Top Tigers honoree and recipient of the 2015 Virgil Sparks Passion Award for commitment to service.
