Coffee County crash leaves one dead, another injured
A two-vehicle crash in Coffee County has claimed the life of a man and injured a woman.
It happened around 4:01 p.m. Friday on Alabama 51 near the six mile marker, approximately four miles north of New Brockton.
State troopers say 79-year-old Vernon Rathbone, of Enterprise, was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided head-on with another vehicle.
Rathbone was pronounced dead on the scene.
The woman in the other vehicle was also injured and taken to Southeast Health in Dothan for treatment
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
