Sunshine, warm, dry this weekend; No significant rain anytime soon
Spring began Friday, and the weather certainly looks pleasant across central and south Alabama for the vernal equinox. While morning lows fell to either side of 40°, temperatures warm to near 80° Friday afternoon. The sky remains mainly sunny for the rest of the day. Temperatures cool off once more Friday evening and Friday night, but temperatures only fall into the low 50s early Saturday morning.
This weekend looks mostly sunny, dry, and warmer. Temperatures warm into the low 80s Saturday, and mid 80s Sunday. The air remains fairly dry across central and south Alabama this weekend, so temperatures still cool off efficiently overnight. Lows settle in the mid 50s early Sunday and upper 50s Monday morning. Mainly dry and warm weather continues next week. However, the first half of the week could be slightly cooler.
A cold front, while not nearly as strong as the one that brought an arctic blast and record cold on Monday 3/16, moves through our area Monday. Models still show hardly any if any rain near this front as it moves through central and south Alabama. However, clouds may increase some Monday into Tuesday. Temperatures still warm into the mid to upper 70s Monday through Wednesday, while overnight temperatures fall into the low to mid 50s each night.
The end of next week also looks dry. Temperatures trend warmer Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 80s. Another cold front may swing through central and south Alabama next weekend. However, this front also looks mainly dry. Otherwise, it looks like clouds may increase a bit Saturday into Sunday. Meanwhile, it looks like temperatures cool some, but not drastically. High temperatures may range from the low to mid 70s with lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
