MANE Needs Your Help in Getting a New Horse
MANE stands for Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians. It's a place where some special students at Flowers Elementary get to go every week. And they could use your help in getting another horse to add to the stable.

It’s time to saddle up! For these students in Ms. Jones’ class, it’s their favorite time of the week.
“We were early because they were telling me it’s time to go, we’ve got to go! So we got up and left,” said Jones.
The students are part of the PALs program.
“Most of my children are children with Downs. I have one Autistic. But they are the same as everyone else, just very unique learners,” said Jones.
Nickey Madrie says what she loves about MANE.
“I love the horse.. I love Elsie. She is my favorite one,” said Madrie.
But it’s not just about having fun.
“So it can be very beneficial physically as well as mentally, so we use colors. They can also, the hip movement of a horse is the same as a person. This can help somebody learn how to walk and learn that muscle strength so they can mimic that movement when they get off the horse,” said Chandalyn Chrzanowski, MANE Equine Director.
Michael Stefno says he loves coming to MANE.
“I ride Josie. And I steer and say, ‘whoa,'” said Stefno.
MANE has the opportunity to steer another horse into their stable.
But they need your help in doing it.
“LexLin Gypsy Ranch up in Tennessee is giving away 10 horses to PATH accredited centers, we are a PATH accredited center and in the running for this. Top 10 centers get a horse and it goes first place gets first pick and second and so forth. And we are really excited to do it again this year and really hope to get in the top 10,” said Chrzanowski.
