More Rain and Cooler Temps

It seems like everyday for the last several weeks has featured highs in the mid 90s with afternoon thunderstorms that fall apart after sunset. It looks like a storm system in the northern gulf will change that as we head into the work week.  In the meantime, tonight we could see a few thunderstorms across the river region, but they should eventually lose steam and fall apart overnight.  Lows across the area will be in the mid-70s with skies going partly cloudy. Tomorrow will be another typical summer day, with highs in the mid to upper 90s and scattered afternoon storms.  It’s possible we could see the heat advisory for our area extended through tomorrow. Monday is when we will see the pattern shift a bit. An area of low pressure over the northern gulf will aid in pumping additional moisture into the area. This increase in rain coverage across the area will mean temperatures stay a bit cooler. For Monday and Tuesday, high temperatures should remain in the lower 90s, and by Wednesday and Thursday we could see some spots fail to reach the 90 degree mark- the last time Montgomery failed to reach 90 degrees was all the way back on June 19th. The disturbance over the gulf should be picked up by upper level flow sometime towards the end of the week into the weekend, which should bring us back into a more summertime pattern with low-90s highs and only isolated to scattered storms for next Saturday and Sunday.
