Clouds fill the sky Thursday afternoon, but our area remains dry and cool with high temperatures in the low 50s. Clouds may clear at least partially Friday night, with lows falling to near or slightly below freezing (32°).
The sky remains mainly sunny Wednesday afternoon, with high temperatures near 50°. Wednesday night looks mainly clear and cold, with lows in the mid 20s.
Rain ends late Sunday as a strong cold front pushes through our area. Temperatures fall into the low 30s or perhaps 20s Sunday night, with lower wind chill values due to brisk northwest winds.
Thursday afternoon remains gloomy and gray with a mainly cloudy sky, and more light, steady rain. Temperatures stay in the 50s for the rest of the daytime.
Some showers appear possible in west Alabama by Wednesday evening. However, temperatures look a bit warmer Wednesday afternoon, with highs in the low 60s.
Thanks to abundant sunshine and brisk northwest winds, roads likely dried Sunday afternoon, and probably remain free of ice early MLK Day morning, despite temperatures falling into the low to mid 20s. Monday looks sunny, but temperatures only warm into the low 50s.
Saturday night’s weather becomes interesting, especially south of Interstate 85 and east of Interstate 65. There, rain may transition to a rain/snow mix or all snow late Saturday night.
